Create my profile now! This is a scarce British WW2 era felt and leather shoulder protector pad used to carry a hot Vickers machine gun across a soldiers back to protect him from getting burnt by the hot barrel jacket. The pad measures approximately 16 inches wide and 14 inches high. The felt is approximately 7/8 inches thick and is double thickness at the edges, which is stitched together. There is a leather portion at the top which is stitched on and is stamped BURY FELT in a circle and a crowfoot over 35. There is a cotton tie straps that threads through a sewn in webbing loop reinforced by leather to attach the pad to the body. The pad seems to be unissued and the price includes U.K. delivery.
