M1904 UVF OEWG Bayonets

The UVF cartouche was stamped only on some rifles and bayonets. The arms recipient had to bring his (or her) equipment back at a later date for stamping. Very few Mannlicher bayonets bear the stamp.

All scabbards were painted gloss black and were of standard Austrian pattern. Three different markings on the frog stud have been recorded while all bore the OEWG trade mark of Steyr.

The u.v.f bayonet is extremely hard to find and would be an excellent addition to any collection, and a conversation starter. The last one online sold for £550.

As to my knowledge it's not been cleaned. However the blade would come up well if professional done, leave to buyers choice.

I've had the bayonet for about 5 years now, and it came straight out of a loft in Ireland, am lead to belive, am only the 3rd owner from the original person it was issued to, However no proof.

The condition details below are to the best of my knowledge, and the pictures taken are outside in daylight to try and capture the condition as accurate as possible (please see pictures).
