Create my profile now! This is an excellent, large & heavy pair of Model 1798 Austrian Cavalry Officer’s 15 Bore Flintlock Pistols. Both pistols have 9 ¾” round steel barrels (each 17” overall length), original iron ram-rods and original Walnut one piece full stocks with blackened brass furniture including cudgel butt caps with iron lanyard rings and brass muzzle block with cast blade foresight. The barrel’s smooth bores have staining and residue consistent with age and use. The lock plates of each pistol have matching numbers ‘853’. The pistols have other un-matching numbers and possible Regiment marks (all illustrated). Both barrels have Liege ‘ELG’ proofs and are signed by the maker ‘G (Gottlieb). Bentz’ (illustrated). The pistols have heavy military cocks. Their actions are strong. The price for this substantial pair of pistols in excellent condition and worthy of further research regarding their marks includes UK delivery. NB As antique flintlock pistols no licence is required to own them in the UK if retained as a part of a collection or display. Sn 20616
