Description

Namban means foreigner in Japanese. This Tsuba is made from very hard iron. These were made in various locations from the 16th & 17th Centuries. Nagasaki, Kyoto and Hizen. They were also made in trading enclaves off the coast of China in the 17th Century. This Tsuba looks to be late ‘Edo’ 1780 into the 19th Century. With ‘Tsukashi ‘piercings of dragons and ‘Tama’. In very good condition, the price includes UK delivery. ED 2699.
