Enfield New Zealand Carbine Bolt Action .303 Rifles

Ultra rare Enfield New zealand Carbine made in 1901. In overall good condition for its age this rare gun was one of only 1500 ever made. the first batch were made in 1901 of which this is one, the serial number being 879. They were commissioned by the New Zealand Government in 1900 and production started in 1901. In .303 caliber with correct turned down flattened bolt handle and correct shortened 6 shot magazine. It has the New Zealand rack number and year (also 1901) stamped on the right side of the stock band and Enfield LEC 1 1901 on the left side. This gun has been fitted with a dust cover that is marked W J Jeffrey London which would have been a later addition. The bolt is not matching, but this is normal for the majority of these guns.
