Create my profile now!Sullivan Forehand was first employed by the American Firearms manufacturer's Allen & Wheelock in 1860. He married Ethan Allen's daughter and entered the Firearms business in his own right operating as the Forehand Arms Company in Worcester Mass. Henry C. Wadsworth, while an Officer in the Union Army during the Civil War, also married one of Ethan Allen's daughters. Upon his discharge at the end of the war, he joined the Allen firm. The Forehand Company name subsequently changed name to Forehand & Wadsworth Firearms Manufacturing Co. This is a good example of Forehand Arms Company ‘DOUBLE ACTION’ .32 Centre Fire calibre Revolver. It retains its original factory nickel finish with just light areas of staining consistent with age. It has a 2 ½” octagonal barrel (7” overall). The top of the frame is crisply marked ‘DOUBLE ACTION’ together with manufacturer detail and 1891 patent (all illustrated). The butt of the grip frame is numbered ‘143196’. It has excellent undamaged ‘FW’ (Forehand & Wadsworth) signature Gutta Percha grips with decorated chequered panels. Deactivated to early UK specification in 1995 the pistol cocks and dry fires in both single & double action. It has open, cut, cylinders that will accept inert rounds and a pinned open barrel.
