Healthways SHARPSHOOTER 175 .177 0 Air Pistols

Serial No 1032868. probably mid 1970s

The auto fill here wouldn't let me write .175 BB calibre just .177, but it's 175 cal.

Please note this pistol shoots .175mm metal BBs, but I tried it with .177 metal BBs and it shot them ok. You put them in the hopper and you have to top cock it between each shot.

In 1973 Heathway produced a spring/piston powered pistol, first called the Sharpshooter then the later model Topscore. Although it was little BB repeater, The whole barrel and action were raised to force back the piston which was located in the gun's butt. The capacity 50 .175 size BB magazine was accessed through a hopper under the barrel, a system found mostly on Sharpshooters. The later model, the Topscore featured a slide on top of the barrel. This model is the Sharpshooter.

Healthways a U.S owned company distributed its air weapons through its sole U.K distributor ‘Parke-Hale Ltd’ in Birmingham.

The ‘Sharpshooter 175’ was known as the ‘Model 9100’ in the U.S. Firing up to 50 .175 BB’s and weighing 800g it is a nice looking pistol emulating a ‘Luger’.

It has sport blade front sights and fixed rear sights. The grips are durable checked black and it has an integral frame. The barrel length is 6 ½ “. The pistol is in very good condition for its, with age related wear in parts, it cocks and fires crisply. A very rare collectors piece
