This is a clip of 5 Soviet 14.5mm (14.5 x 114) dummy rounds for the Protivotankovoe Ruzh’yo Simonova Obrazets1941 g (PTRS) anti-tank rifle use introduced in 1941. The gun was a gas operated semi-automatic weapon which was fed with a 5 round clip which was stacked in a double row en-bloc similar to the American M1 Garrand clip. At the time of its introduction into service, the gun had good armour penetration, 40mm at 100 yards which was good for penetrating the top armour of the early panzers form roof top levels. The nickel plated dummy rounds are made of brass cartridge cases with 2 cross drilled holes in the sides and a crimped in jacketed bullet. The rounds are headstamped 25 over 71and have a struck primer. The steel spring steel 5 round clip has various stamps to the bottom including 39 2 and other small stamps.
