This is an excellent WW1 Era British Mounted Infantry Saddle 'Bucket' Holster For Lee Enfield SMLE .303 Calibre Rifles in near mint condition. It is made of quality brown hide and has brass rivets, rings and leather strap with brass buckle. The open top bucket has padded reinforced edges at the throat. The bucket has sturdy reinforced stitched edges. The muzzle end of the bucket is capped with central hole to allow water to escape when in use in the field. The tip of the strap has WD mark and letter ‘L’ impressed together with an indistinct impressed date (illustrated in the images).
