Description
A Katana Tsuba (A tsuba is a sword guard and part of a sword mounting. It is mounted between the sword's blade and grip to protect the user's hands) in iron with a lovely dark patina and colour with a slightly hammered and rounded rim. The tsuba depicts a bamboo grove in the rain with brass inlays. It has been mounted on a sword but is in excellent condition. This example has been dated to between the 1780’s & 1850’s and looks to be ‘Aizushoami’ work (unsigned). The price includes UK delivery. ED 2692.
