Create my profile now!Thomas Cook was an English Gunsmith with premises at The Market Place Warminster Wiltshire between 1821-1830. This is a nice 50 Bore brass framed percussion pocket pistol by Thomas Cook. It is 6” overall with a just under 1 ¾” screw off fluted barrel & a dolphin hammer. On the left side of the brass frame amongst the fine banners and arms decoration is engraved 'Cook' and the right 'Warminster' within similar banner and arms design. It has a concealed folding trigger & sliding safety catch feature. The pistol is also fitted with an unusual innovative hinged steel 'frizzen style' nipple protector/ safety. The action works as it should. It has impressed black powder proof /inspection marks on the underside of the frame. The bag shaped wood grip is undamaged with just the light bumps and bruises to be expected. The grip has lovely fine chequering on the back section and is inlaid with a void silver disc. The price includes UK delivery. NB As an antique percussion pistol no licence is required to own this item in the UK if retained as a part of a collection or display. Sn 21393:33
