Create my profile now!Not often seen in this form as most dha have the typical bamboo leaf shape blade or straight with concave tip.
The blade is thick spine'd and slightly curving with a hollow forged central fuller for strength and lightness, the spine is thick at the hilt end and tapers distally until 15.5 cm from the hilt towards the tip where it then thins and becomes a false top flat edge.
The hilt is made from dark rosewood which has been carved with a crosshatched decoration for grip.
The hilt mounts are in a pale whitish yellow alloy bronze type, including the front guard plate.
The scabbard is made from 2 pieces of dark hardwood teak with yellow alloy mounts, all mounts are original and none replaced.
I have added a new pure cotton cord as is traditional for dha, the people who use them do not consider them complete if they do not have them and they are used for all manor of jobs.
A rare dha sword of unusual form and in exceptional condition for age, it has a tiny bit of black pitting on the top spine edge on both sides but otherwise is in perfect shape.
I always clean and oil all blades with Japanese Choji oil, this one has had the same treatment and is still very sharp considering its age.
