Create my profile now!These are a cased pair of WWI, 1918 dated, British 6X magnification, military binoculars in their original leather case which is stamped by the manufacturer A. Argastine & Co Ltd’‘. The Binoculars are 3 ½ ” in length & have a black/brown leather textured finish, with adjustable eyepieces *Broad Arrows to both sides below the lens. The body of the binoculars have lanyard bars & are fitted with the correct leather neck strap. All optics are excellent and function as they should. One shoulder of the binoculars is marked BINOCULAR, PRISMATIC No3 (MARK II) MAGNIFICATION 6 No 1499. The other shoulder is marked GRATICULES ½ o and ½ o, 1 o and 1 ½ o high. There is also the monogram of CARL ZEISS (LONDON) LTD and the date 1916. The front of the prism blocks have double WD arrows engraved on to them. The brown leather fitted case has a carrying handle on the lid together with a buckle fastener to secure the case. The top of the case is stamped CASE No 3 PRISMATIC BINOCUSAR MARK I A. Argastine & Co Ltd 1916. Inscribed to the other side of the carrying handle is ‘A.J.H’ there is a Broad Arrow below the buckle. All five carrying loops for the shoulder strap are fitted to the case and all of the stitching is intact. The price includes UK delivery. OPT 796.
