The nose fuse is of British manufacture and retains the blue painted finish to the outside unsectioned part of the fuze. The Adin cannon round was developed from the German Mauser MG 213/30mm experimental revolver cannon designed for the Luftwaffe in WW2. This had a case length of 85mm. The 30 mm Aden cannon was a replacement for the older Hispano-Suiza HS.404 20 mm cannon used in various British aircraft of World War II. Two case lengths were used in the experimental trials, the 86mm (LV) and the 111mm (HV ‘high velocity’). Both rounds had the same overall length, the difference being the length of the projectile and weight of explosive charge. The Low Velocity round was dropped from the trials, the HV being adopted. This is a nose impact fuze off the H.V. Aden canon round, the fuze section shows the fuze in its safe before firing. This fuze is in excellent condition in its original moulded solid perspex inspection case. The case measures approximately 4 ¼ x 3 x 1 ¼ inches. The price includes UK delivery and no licence is required to possess this fuse in the UK if retained as part of a collection or display. O 1975
