A very attractive Balkan area Flintlock pistol with heavy silver mounts, made around 1760-1790. The lock made by Wilson of London and engraved with his name. The barrel 11 inches long with some very fine decoration and gold background to the chizzelling. Solid silver butt cap engraved and embossed. The sideplate, trigger guard, ramrod pipes and escutcheon all matching in very heavy silver. The stock also inlaid with further silver wire decoration. Action is complete, main spring working but not holding back on full cock. Overall length approx 17 inches. This is a very good looking and fine quality Flintlock pistol, much higher quality than most Balkan area pistols encountered. Ref 7576.
