The Barrel marked with E Remington & son llion N.Y riders pat AUG 15th 1871.
Perfect working order.
The pistol reloading mechanism was very unusual and original. The breech block locks the cocking lever (reloading), inside which the trigger is installed. When retracted, the spokes of the cocking lever (reloading lever) are back, the cartridge case is removed from the chamber, the trigger is cocked and the cartridge from the magazine is fed to the barrel bore line. When the platoon lever moves forward, a cartridge is sent to the chamber and the barrel bore is locked — the pistol is ready to fire. When you press the trigger there is a shot.
This is an obsolete antique pistol and is sold as a collectors item only.
