INERT DEACTIVATED. The 128mm Flak 40 gun was the heaviest anti aircraft gun in service with the German army in WW2 with a bore of 128mm. The gun was mounted in single and twin static mounts because of its weight. This is a rare to find high explosive round for German Flak 40 gun. This is a very rare to find WW2 German 128mm Flak 40 (128x958R) HE (High Explosive) round for the Flak 40 heavy anti-aircraft gun. The steel cartridge case is headstamped 12,8cm/SO Flak 40 - Phone number removed - ate) 8 . The cartridge case is fitted with a screw in brass percussion primer which is stamped 92 41 (1941 date) auf (Metall-, Guss- und Presswerk, H. Diehl, Nuernberg). The high explosive projectile is fitted with two sintered iron driving bands and is stamped round its circumference 151 B and a waffenampt. The projectile is fitted with an alloy Zt.Z.S/30 time fuze which is stamped round its circumference Zt.ZS/30 dpv 1942 (1942 date) 530 and a waffenampt.
