**VERY RARE**WW1 Era British Royal Navy Air Service (RNAS) Pilot Officer's Brown Leather Holster For Webley .455 Service Revolvers By PHD & .455 Semi Auto Pistols With Cross Belt. L 279 - L 279

In WW1 the British RNAS were issued with Webley .455 semi auto pistols and Revolvers. This is a very rare WW1 era British RNAS Officer's Brown Leather Holster For Webley .455 Service Revolvers & Semi Automatic Pistols. A copy of a contemporary photograph taken in autumn 1914 shows a group of Royal Navy Flight Officer’s & Royal Marine Officer’s, at least 2 of whom are carrying one of these holsters is illustrated in image 1. Our holster has the correct riveted seam, full flap cover with single brass stud and retaining strap with eyelet. The rear has stitched tabs which support a leather cross belt with brass buckle. All rivets are in place and all stitching intact. The inside of the flap is impressed with numbers ‘7/38’ date possibly an inter war re-issue date (July 1938) together with maker mark ‘PHD’. All leather and stitching are clean and intact. The price for this very rare RNAS holster includes UK delivery.
