This is an original, WW1 Era, Dutch 1912 pattern Army Officer’s Sword & Scabbard. The Sword is in very good condition. It has a single edged, fullered, curved, 34” blade. One side of the blade is crisply etched with banner containing the word ‘Yzerhouwer’ (Dutch: translates to ‘Iron Hacker’ a proof mark indicating that the blade was able to cut into iron). The blade is clean, has original leather hilt washer and is crisply marked by the German manufacturer ‘Alex Coppel Solingen’ together with the Company’s scales trademark. Its brass hilt has a Lion’s head pommel and mane back strap. The cross guard has a Puma’s head finial and plain langets. The grooved grip has all of its wire binding. The Sabre is complete with its original steel scabbard with single hanging ring. The price includes UK delivery. Sn 18323:1
