Create my profile now! This is a nice, C1800 brass action flintlock pocket pistol. It measures just over 7 ½” overall with a 2 ¼” screw off steel barrel. The smoothbore has just light staining. The action is signed ‘Lewis’ within engraved martial arms on one side and the reverse ‘London’ within martial arms (most likely William Lewis aka Lewes a London based gunmaker working from 3 Tun Court Whitechapel, 1820, Roadside, Whitechapel 1821 & Underwood Street Mile End 1841, see page 179 of British Gunmakers Vol 1 by Brown). The underside of the action has crisp English proofs. It has a steel cock, frizzen pan, sliding safety catch feature and steel trigger guard. The pistol’s bag shaped wood grip is undamaged. The pistol cocks and dry fires crisply. The price includes UK delivery. NB As an antique flintlock pistol no licence is required to own this item in the UK if retained as part of a collection or display. Sn 21393:38 (in box 21393)
