The Heckler and Koch G3 rifle was a select fire rifle chambered in 7.62 NATO and was developed in the 1950s by Heckler and Koch in conjunction with CETME. The rifle was in service with the German Bundeswehr until the 1990s when it was replaced by the G36. The rifle was used by other countries. This is a G3 7.62mm semi-automatic rifle complete with its original wooden stock and fore end together with a black plastic pistol grip. The rifles cocking lever lifts and cycles the slide, the trigger and safety catch all move and the magazine can be removed. The side of the action is stamped G3 FMP 9/63 (September 1963 manufacture date) together with the serial number 904853. The rifle is in good used condition with its original muzzle protector and has the usual knocks and bumps with service use. The bayonet for this rifle is available separately on our web site.
