Soon after the end of WWII, a Soviet design competition was announced to find a replacement for the ageing Nagant M1895 revolver and TT-33 Tokarev pistol. In 1949 IMZ began producing commercial sporting firearms for sale within the Soviet bloc. Using the trade name Baikal, the company quickly gained a reputation for producing high quality, rugged shotguns and hunting rifles. In 1989 the company was granted permission to begin exporting commercial firearms to other countries. The MP-654K is a semi-automatic double-action .177 (4.5mm) Co2 air pistol designed for close-range target shooting. 90% of Baikal's parts are genuine modern Makarov (PMM) pistol non-viable parts (similar in construction) and this is why the upper slide can be pulled back to cock the trigger, just like on its 9mm version. This example comes with a spare C02 cartridge holder and a Flambeau hard case. In very good condition with minor signs of wear. The price includes UK delivery. NB As a post 1939 Air Weapon the restrictions of the Crime Reduction Act apply to the sale and delivery of this item. AI 758.
