Create my profile now!This is an original WW2, 1944 dated, .303 calibre No.4 MK I* rifle, sling, No 4 mark II bayonet with its scabbard and webbing frog. The rifle has all of original woodwork and metalwork which is in excellent condition and was made at Long Branch in Ontario, Canada to supply to British forces in WW2. The rifle has a winged fore sight, flip up micro adjustable rear sight and a brass butt plate with trap and an original webbing sling. The breech is marked on the left hand side No 4 Mk I* LONG BRANCH 1944 (date). The grip strap is marked on the left hand side with serial number 25730. Deactivated to UK specification in 1998 the weapon cocks and dry fires. The magazine can be removed and rounds inserted. The rifle comes with an original number 4 mark II Pig Sticker socket bayonet, mark 1 scabbard and a 1943 dated webbing frog. The bayonet’s 8” blade is straight and undamaged, the socket has the correct release catch which functions as it should and is marked with No.4 MK II designation. The bayonet’s original steel scabbard has a frog locket and ball end. The correct zinc alloy throat piece of the scabbard is stamped No 4 MK I SGP 1943 (date).
